Electricity Rate Update for February 2025
Dear Valued Consumers,
We would like to inform you about the electricity rate for February 2025 and provide some important updates:
- February 2025 Electricity Rate: 6.7414 pesos per kWh
- Higher by 2.0679 pesos per kWh compared to January 2025
- Reasons for Increase:
- The adjustment for the Generation and Systems Loss rate, with corresponding amounts of -2.7374 pesos per kWh and -0.1704 pesos per kWh, was implemented only during the billing period of January 2025.
- Higher Universal Charges and Government Taxes
- January 2025 Rate: The lower electricity rate in January 2025 was primarily due to the impact of ERC Resolution No. 14 Series of 2022, which adopted revised rules governing the automatic cost adjustment and true-up mechanisms for distribution utilities.
- Comparison of the February 2025 electricity rate to December 2024.: Despite the increase in electricity prices, we are pleased to announce that the rate for February 2025 is lower than the electricity rate in December 2024, which was 8.3909 pesos per kWh, due to cooler weather, which caused a decrease in electricity prices in the spot market.
