๐ข RESIDENTIAL RATE UPDATE โ APRIL 2026
ย Dear Valued Member-Consumer-Owners,
ย We would like to inform you of the electricity rate for the April 2026 billing period:
โก Electricity Rate: โฑ9.1150/kWh
๐บ This represents an increase of โฑ1.8493/kWh compared to the March 2026 rate of โฑ7.2657/kWh.
ย ๐ Why did the electricity rate increase?
The increase in the overall electricity rate is mainly driven by higher generation costs. This is partly influenced by recent developments in the global energy market, including rising fuel prices which pushed prices higher.
As fuel prices increase, power generation costs especially those sourced from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) also rise, leading to higher electricity rates.
Despite the slight decrease in Transmission Charge, the overall electricity rate increased compared to the previous month, as outlined below:

โก Generation Charge (WESM)
Increased to โฑ4.3164/kWh from โฑ2.7394/kWh
