POWER RATES – APRIL 2026

ZAMECO I would like to inform the public of the approved power rates for the APRIL 2026 billing period, compared to March 2026.

RESIDENTIAL:
₱7.2657 / kWh → ₱9.1150 / kWh
(Increase of ₱1.8493 / kWh)

LOW VOLTAGE:
₱6.3761 / kWh → ₱8.2247 / kWh
(Increase of ₱1.8486 / kWh)

HIGH VOLTAGE:
₱4.4886 / kWh → ₱6.3426 / kWh
(Increase of ₱1.8540 / kWh)

The overall increase in power rates for the April 2026 billing period is primarily attributed to higher generation costs, along with increases in other pass-through charges.

The Generation Charge increased due to the ongoing global energy crisis, which has disrupted the supply of imported fuel and driven international prices higher. As fuel prices rise, power generation costs particularly those sourced from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) also increase, resulting in higher electricity rates.

Furthermore, notable adjustments in transmission charges and other related cost components also contributed to the upward movement in electricity rates.

With these developments, MCOs are urged to remain mindful of their electricity usage and adopt energy-saving habits, especially during the summer season when demand is higher.
