POWER RATES FOR SEPTEMBER 2026

Residential: ₱12.9531 → ₱12.4840/kWh (−₱0.4691)

Low Voltage: ₱12.1597 → ₱11.6299/kWh (−₱0.5298)

High Voltage: ₱9.9664 → ₱9.6851/kWh (−₱0.2813)

ZAMECO I would like to inform all Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) that the electricity rate for residential consumers in September 2026 is ₱12.4840 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This is a decrease of ₱0.4691/kWh compared with the August 2026 rate of ₱12.9531/kWh.

The Low Voltage rate also decreased to ₱11.6299/kWh (a reduction of ₱0.5298/kWh), and the High Voltage rate to ₱9.6851/kWh (a reduction of ₱0.2813/kWh), compared with August 2026.

THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS DECREASE IS THE DROP IN TAXES/VAT AND THE TRANSMISSION CHARGE, ALTHOUGH THE GENERATION CHARGE INCREASED.

For September 2026, the Generation Charge increased by ₱0.0203/kWh, from ₱7.1962/kWh in August 2026 to ₱7.2165/kWh. The generation charge is based on the cost of electricity purchased from power suppliers and the market, so it may change depending on supply conditions, demand, and electricity market prices.

Meanwhile, Taxes/VAT decreased by ₱0.2882/kWh, the Transmission charge by ₱0.1878/kWh, the System Loss charge by ₱0.0062/kWh, and Others (other minor and universal charges) by ₱0.0072/kWh, compared with August 2026.

On the other hand, the collection of the Green Energy Auction Allowance (GEA-All) of ₱0.0371/kWh remains suspended for September 2026. Pursuant to the ERC Advisory issued on August 19, 2026, the temporary suspension of its collection was extended to cover the September to December 2026 billing months, to provide relief to Filipino households amid rising inflation and cost of living. All Collection Agents are directed to submit formal compliance reports within fifteen (15) days after the close of the December 2026 billing month.

Pursuant to the ERC Advisory issued on May 5, 2026 under Executive Order No. 110, ZAMECO I implemented the Staggered Payment Scheme, which spreads the total generation charge over succeeding billing periods to reduce the immediate impact of higher electricity prices on the bills of MCOs.

As for ZAMECO I’s distribution charge, it remains at ₱1.4640/kWh — unchanged since 2011, reflecting the cooperative’s continued effort to keep the cost of electricity distribution stable for its MCOs.

Electricity rates may change monthly due to market conditions and changes in the cost of power supply.

ZAMECO I encourages all MCOs to practice responsible electricity use and to use energy-efficient appliances and practices to help manage their monthly consumption and electricity bills.

As a reminder, we encourage our MCOs to pay their monthly bills early to avoid accumulating balances in the coming months. Thank you for your cooperation!
